Town Life Adult Center Launches New Series

Starting on October 14 and then each second Monday of the month, a bereavement
program will be offered in the Town Life Adult Center. Nancy Haupert of Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice will head these sessions. She will lead discussions around the stresses of deaths, holidays, life downsizing, and any other concern brought forward by older adult participants. The meetings will be held in the Town Life Adult Center (corner of Bond and Seventh Streets).Other programs will continue in the fall and include hosting the folks who utilize the Shepherd’s Center blood pressure check each Tuesday. Those involved in Shepherd’s Center Stretch and Flex program also have made the Adult Center their home for unwinding and good conversation following the twice-weekly workouts.
Preparation of bed pads for Heartland Health Care has grown into a significant activity fin Adult Center participants. This fall the Timbercrest and Peabody Homes will be added to the list of organizations that utilize these pads. This is an every Tuesday activity.
Bingo has taken on more and more players each Friday with prizes and great camaraderie. A gift of $1 is expected of players to cover expenses of the bingo prizes.
Each Monday will feature a speaker on a rotating series of topics of interest to older adults. Nevonna Allen continues to manage the Adult Center program. She reports increasing numbers of guests and participants. She will welcome your involvement.
The Town Life Center is at 603 Bond Street at the corner of Seventh and Bond in the building that was formerly Thomas Marshall elementary school.
